Halloween 2011.

I'm so proud of myself! I made both of my costumes this year!

I went to two parties. The first was pretty low key, so I made myself a mask and went as the Phantom of the Opera-ting Room. :) I bought a half-mask from an art-supply story (they have them at JoAnns and Michaels), and pasted my OR masks from my week in surgery over the top. Turned out beautifully. Wore it with my blue scrub top, black pencil skirt, and a big black cape that I made from black fabric remnants I bought at JoAnns.

Next, I joined my sister-in-law as a Disney princess, but instead of doing Slutty Cinderella or the equivalent that they sell as pre-packaged plastic costumes these days, we got as close to the real thing as possible. She got her hands on an AMAZING full-length yellow Belle dress from Beauty and the Beast, and I bought fabric and ribbon and made (yes, MADE) a skirt, poofy sleeves, satin bow headband, and collar. I had the corset from a past pirate costume, so I got blue satin remnants from the fabric store bin and paneled over it. Voila! Snow White! :)
